The doctor is in!

First and foremost, welcome to my blog!  My name is Dr. Tristin Engels. I am a licensed Clinical Forensic Psychologist in the State of California. I am the owner of Clinical and Forensic Psychological Services and provide psychological assessments and evaluations for various referral reasons. The majority of my business supports legal proceedings in which the court or attorney would like an assessment to identify any potential mental health or cognitive impairments, second opinion pre-employment evaluations, second opinion fitness for duty evaluations, evaluations for parents in a custody dispute, pre-sentencing or parole evaluations for treatment recommendations, and the like. I also currently provide “telepsych” services in which therapy is provided via the web (similar to Face time). I don’t currently take insurance, but that will be changing soon. It’s a long process for credentialing through insurance companies and as soon as that process is complete, I will be sure to update you all. I also am able and willing to provide clinical supervision to students obtaining their clinical hours for licensure for a monthly stipend.

Now for Housekeeping items!

I want to first ensure that you, the valued reader, are aware that this blog does not establish a client/patient therapeutic relationship. Any and all information, tips, discussions, or educational material provided here is not intended for treatment. Therefore, should you find that you would like to pursue treatment, please contact your insurance company for resources and/or Psychology Today to find a provider near you. If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 911. If you are interested in telepsych therapy with me, please contact me so we can go through the appropriate motions to establish the client/therapist relationship. Lastly, if you are seeking a provider to complete a psychological evaluation on you or your client and are located in the Los Angeles area, please feel free to contact me here.

The objective of this blog is to discuss psychology related topics. If there is a topic you would like to see discussed here, please be sure to let me know!

I hope you find this blog educational, entertaining, and useful!
